K2 Snowboard Bindings | A Cleaner Connection

When we set out to create our new binding collection, we knew that we wanted to put Mother Nature first. To do this, we prioritized our time, energy, and resources into developing a product that not only performs best in class but has a smaller environmental impact than a traditional snowboard binding. Using Eco-Conscious and recycled materials in place of the plastics and EVA that are traditionally used to manufacture highbacks, ankle straps, toe straps, ratchets, and more.

As a result, we have achieved impressive reductions in our carbon footprint – it’s not perfect, but it’s a click in the right direction.

All K2 Snowboarding bindings come in 100% Recyclable Packaging.

All K2 Snowboarding binding packaging is 95% FSC-certified recycled material.

>40% of the energy used in our manufacturing process is derived from solar.

Single-density and dual-density Ankle Straps and Wrap Toe Straps are made with castor-bean based materials. These straps have seen a 70% reduction in CO2 emissions per kg when compared to traditional TPU straps.

Injected with castor-bean based materials, K2’s Team, AM1, and FR1 Highbacks offer ~a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions per kg when compared to a nylon highback.

Sugarcane EVA Shockpad with Eco Harshmellow Pods help with dampening and impact absorption. The sustainably-sourced materials offer a ~90% reduction in CO2 emissions per kg when compared to traditional EVA.
